Pay it forward through literacy!
When our own community was devastated by the tornado, school children in the Cedar Valley donated books as gifts to students who had lost their belongings. The Aplington Parkersburg Middle School would like to pay it forward by helping middle school students in the Houston area affected by the hurricane and flooding.
Students may purchase books from the Scholastic flyers sent home or by going through my Scholastic website. See directions below for online orders.

Students may order books as a donation as well as for personal use. If ordering for self, please indicate on the Scholastic order form or email me to inform me of the book titles. If you are unsure of what books to order for middle schoolers, we will also accept cash donations as well as checks made out to Scholastic for a predetermined amount. From there, students in our class can have the honor of choosing the books that they believe middle schoolers from Houston would love! Remember that through our Scholastic orders, we receive points to use in the future for buying more books for the classroom! We are all winning through the love of literacy!
